Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea made public a declaration on Nov. 3 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Kwangju student incident. The solidarity in the declaration said that the students' mass anti-Japanese resistance triggered off by the incident in which Japanese students molested and insulted Korean girl students in Kwangju 80 years ago was an eruption of Korean youth and students' resentment at the Japanese imperialists' harsh colonial predatory policy and an expression of their firm will to liberate Korea at any cost. The colonial history still persists on this land though decades have passed since then, the organization deplored. The U.S. forces that landed in south Korea under the mask of "liberator" after the Japanese imperialists' defeat have forced the people of south Korea into colonial slavery, wantonly infringing upon its sovereignty and dignity, the organization noted, calling for forcing the U.S. forces, the provocateur of the Korean war and harasser of peace, to quit south Korea by carrying forward the fighting spirit displayed by Kwangju youth and students. |
