Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- A music and dance performance to celebrate February 16 "We Live Near the General" was given by the art troupe of Koreans in Japan at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Saturday. The art troupe put on the stage various numbers they prepared sincerely in boundless reverence for General Secretary Kim Jong Il. The performers impressively depicted the great pride and self-esteem of the Korean nation led by Kim Jong Il, who has demonstrated the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung's Korea, in such numbers as instrumental music and song "Confetti of Best Wishes" and a female solo "Thinking about Father". Repertoire also included a trio dance "Dance of Janggu", a kayagum solo "Song of the Sea" that showed dexterous and elegant rhythm and skilled rendition. Male solo "Let's Pass High Hill" and mixed chorus "Toward 2012" vividly showed the steadfast faith and will of the Koreans in Japan to firmly defend the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, a precious patriotic legacy bequeathed by President Kim Il Sung, and advance along the road of patriotism to the last under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. Minister of Culture An Tong Chun, officials concerned and working people in Pyongyang watched the performance. The performance will go on. |
