The organization in its appeal set forth specific tasks for implementing the slogan "Let the entire nation unite under the banner of north-south joint declarations and achieve national reunification at the earliest date!", the slogan contained in the joint editorial this year. This is quite just and realistic.

Independent reunification and peace and prosperity would be unthinkable without national reconciliation and cooperation.

It is possible to achieve independent reunification and peace and prosperity only when Koreans from all walks of life at home and abroad join hands, irrespective of ideology, political view and religion, to actively realize national reconciliation and earnestly revitalize visits, contacts and multi-faced cooperation.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are important programmes reflecting the Korean people's ardent desire for national reunification and indicating clear strategy and ways for achieving independent reunification.

The path of "By our nation itself," the road of national independence indicated by the north-south joint declarations, is the permanent way to be followed by the Koreans.

The only way of independently and peacefully solving the Korean nation's issue of reunification is to found the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo.

No force on earth can hold in check the grand march of the Koreans for reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

All the Koreans at home and abroad should turn out as one, firmly convinced of the victory of the cause of independent reunification, and glorify this year marking the 10th anniversary of the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration as a year of bringing about a fresh turn in the country's reunification.
