The statement charged that the U.S.-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises posed a threat to peace of the region, contending that the reality clearly shows it is none other than the U.S. which is openly stepping up the preparations for a war while pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of a war.

Vehemently denouncing all kinds of joint military exercises staged by the U.S. and the south Korean authorities, the statement demanded an immediate halt to them.

It called on all peace-loving people and democratic forces in the world to express solidarity with the just cause of the Korean people and urge the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to immediately stop the war threat.
