Present there were personages of political parties and organizations including the Peruvian Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung, the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, the Communist Party of Peru (Red Motherland), the Party of Workers of Peru and the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship and masses.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Peru and staff members of his embassy.

Prior to the meeting, the participants watched a DPRK film dealing with the exploits of the President.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The speakers said that the President was a peerlessly great man who embarked upon the road of revolution in his early years, explored a true road of the Korean revolution and defeated two imperialisms in one generation and an ardent patriot who devoted his all to the country and its people.

They noted that the President was a genius of ideology as he founded the Juche idea, adding the idea is a beacon of hope and a valuable treasure for mankind as it always guides the human cause of independence to victory.

They lauded the President as a benevolent father who showed boundless love for progressive mankind, taking care of them, and a great man and the sun for all people revered by the whole world.

A message to General Secretary Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
