Minju Joson Japan Accused of More Zealously Toeing U.S. Policy

Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- The Japanese defence minister was reported recently to have extolled his master U.S. to the sky, uttering "Japan would like to properly approach its new defence strategy and welcome it as there is no change in its stance of giving priority to the Asia-Pacific Region". Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: Japan is impatient for inviting the U.S. to meddle in regional issues. Lurking behind its stand of toeing the U.S. policy is its calculation to realize its wild ambition for emerging a military power and launch reinvasion with the U.S. backing. Japan offered the U.S. its whole territory as a sortie base and logistic base for a war so that the latter may realize its strategy for dominating Asia. Japan is covered with a dense network of U.S. military bases. Japan feigns ignorance of the frequent port calls of U.S. warships with nuclear weapons on board. Not content with this, Japan is considering offering even its civilian ports to the U.S. under the absurd pretext of "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula. Japan is now rapidly reorganizing its state machinery into a reasonable form for carrying out its policy of war. It was disclosed recently that a working group of the Democratic Party of Japan finished the framework of a "draft recommendation" for establishing the Japanese version of the National Security Council. It is the calculation of Japan to decide on major military affairs at the "National Security Council" without going through complicated procedures and rush headlong towards militarist war of aggression overseas. The DPRK can never remain an onlooker to the danger of war increasing in Northeast Asia by Japan. Japan would be well advised to give up its ambition for overseas expansion and behave with discretion. |
