In his lifetime, he used to spend days and nights in train to visit every nook and corner of the country.

One day in September Juche 98 (2009), he told officials that next day would mark the end of the 150-day campaign, so he was going to give field guidance to the project of the Huichon Power Station. The officials asked him to cancel the plan because it was a long journey.

But he said he considered it a great pride to make a long journey to find himself among people.

The officials told him the mileage he covered by train that year for field guidance was as long as that in the past ten years.

Saying he felt as if he were at home when he was in train and as if he were at a hotel when he was at home, he left for Huichon.

He was also in train for a field guidance tour at the time when he passed away.

The train serves as a witness of the tireless efforts Kim Jong Il made for the happiness of the people. -0-
