The circus, with a long history, embraces acrobats from several acrobatic troupes in Russia, including merited and people's artistes.

They won acclamation in various international circus festivals.

Head of the circus Nikolai Nikolayevichi Naumov told KCNA they came to Pyongyang to adorn President Kim Il Sung's 100th birth anniversary more significantly.

He said:

"The current festival is being held on a high level. We know many things about the culture of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and highly admire them.

The friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK have a long history and tradition."
