The message said that the festival marked a meaningful occasion in achieving social progress and prosperity common to mankind, deepening the bonds of friendship among movie persons of various countries of the world and promoting the development of national movies thanks to sincere efforts and cooperation of excellent movie persons of the DPRK and the world.

During our brief stay in Pyongyang we participants of the festival saw for ourselves the signal successes made by your country in the building of a thriving nation and in the cultural field, it noted, and continued:
