The history of socialist Korea was begun with this auspicious day, the Day of the Sun.

The Korean people have kept the faith that the President is the savior of national restoration and the eternal sun of Juche and the present DPRK and the Korean nation's high dignity can be unthinkable without him.

They, who suffered from backwardness and poverty and were forced into the destiny of colonial slavery, could create a new life after the President liberated Korea from the Japanese imperialists' aggression.

The President embarked on the road of revolution in his teens, created the immortal Juche idea and led the 20-year-long anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, thus achieving the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945.

Since the birth of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948, the Korean people became masters of the state and society and independent and creative people who take their destinies in their own hands and carve out their destinies by their own efforts.

Under the wise guidance of the President, they won victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953) to defend the sovereignty of the country and nation and built a powerful socialist country independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence on this land by displaying the heroic stamina of Chollima Korea on the debris after the war.

Korea, once eclipsed in the world map, could display its might to the world as a powerful socialist country of Juche and its people could lead a worthwhile life and happiness under the socialist system, thanks to the indefatigable efforts of the President who devoted his all to the country and people.

That's why the DPRK people have devoted their wisdom and passion to carrying into practice the noble wish of the President, holding him in high esteem as the founder of socialist Korea and the eternal President of the Republic.
