Present at the ceremony were Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chae Il Ryong, chairman of the provincial people's committee, Kim Kyong Jun, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the youth league, teaching staff of the camp and campers from North and South Hamgyong, Ryanggang and other provinces.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the camp and paid tribute to them.

A reporter and speakers noted that schoolchildren were to enjoy winter camping under the care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who has shown warm love and trust to ensure that the Children's Union members grow up uprightly and faithfully.

They called upon the campers to further enrich their knowledge through colorful camping activities and prepare themselves to be true sons and daughters and young revolutionaries of the socialist country with noble morality and strong physiques.

At the end of the ceremony, there was a march-past of the campers.
