Sinuiju City, Pakchon and Ryongchon counties of North Phyongan Province are keeping the right amount of seeds and the right time of sowing for different rice strains.

Jongju City, Kwaksan and Thaechon counties are applying multi-nutrients and herbicide in a scientific way to raise the germination rate of seeds.

Pyongyang City has seen an increase in the rate of accomplishing daily plan. The agricultural workers in Mangyongdae District and Kangnam County sow seeds in large areas every day by tapping all possible forces and means. Sadong and Rangnang districts apply humus soil for better growth of rice seedlings and improve the quality of various processes including covering with earth and plastic sheets.

Farms in South Phyongan Province focus on temperature and humidity management and fertilizer spreading on seedbeds.

Similar successes were witnessed in North Hwanghae Province and Nampho City.
