The province has made big efforts to work out realistic measures and plans for improving rivers and streams radically and consistently.

It conducted demonstration work to successfully ensure the general mobilization for land management in Sinhung County and, through this, helped exchange and share good experience in solving technical problems arising in river improvement.

Hochon County carried out the dredging of river beds of tens of thousands of cubic meters and the building of retaining walls in a large area in a short span of time. Such progress was made in Jongphyong, Kumya and Riwon counties, too.

The province has introduced the experience of exemplary units to further encourage the project.
