Mass Movements during Fatherland Liberation War
Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- The history of the victorious Fatherland Liberation War in the 1950s records the heroic feats performed by the service personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) who devotedly defended the country while waging various mass movements under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

The sniper team movement pioneered by the soldiers of "Sinbal Height" located in the eastern sector of the front rapidly spread to the whole front. As a result, over 1 000 enemy troops were annihilated in a month.

The tank-hunting team movement, which was launched during the fourth stage of the war, also dealt a heavy blow to the enemy.

According to the order of the President, members of the tank-hunting teams of all combined units and other units infiltrated deep into the enemy's interior to destroy enemy tanks, reducing more than 200 tanks to scrap iron within one year.

The movement of the aircraft-hunting team, which dealt a fatal blow to the enemy who boasted of its "air superiority", gained momentum in 1952. KPA soldiers, who had deemed it impossible to down the enemy planes without anti-aircraft guns, hunted enemy planes flying low with small arms, thus shooting down more than 1,200 enemy planes in a year.

The model company movement, which was launched vigorously by the entire army, was a mass movement that was focused on remarkably increasing the combat efficiency of company, raising the level of its military and political training and making it a spirited combat group.

This movement was launched in all companies, which produced more than 390 model companies in one year and tens of thousands of model soldiers.

The widespread mass movements on the whole front trained all the KPA soldiers into heroes and made it possible to perform many miracles unprecedented in the history of world wars.
