Present there on invitation were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wang Yajun and his embassy members were on hand.

The ambassador said in his speech that he was pleased that the Korean people are thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Eighth Congress of the WPK and the plenary meetings of the WPK Central Committee, dynamically promoting the overall development and prosperity of the socialist cause and achieving fresh and great successes under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

He stressed that the stand of the Chinese party and government to brilliantly defend, successfully consolidate and develop the China-DPRK relations no matter how the world political situation may change remains unchanged and that they would maintain strategic communication and boost cooperation true to the noble will of the top leaders of the two countries.

Kang Yun Sok said in his speech that the five rounds of historic meetings and talks held between the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the respected Comrade Xi Jinping were a powerful driving force for vigorously developing the DPRK-China friendly relations with socialism as its core as required by the new era and a historic event that clearly demonstrated the invincibility and vitality of the DPRK-China friendship at home and abroad.

It is our fixed stand to further develop the DPRK-China friendly relations in conformity with the common desire of the peoples of the two countries, he said, wishing the Chinese people new and bigger successes in the struggle for achieving the great prosperity of the Chinese nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Xi Jinping as its core.
