Progress Made in Production of Consumer Goods

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK boosts the production of consumer goods by tapping its internal reserves, true to the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of further developing the production of August 3 consumer goods as required by the reality in provinces, cities and counties.

Chongam District in Chongjin City has produced a lot of consumer goods including seasonal clothes, children's clothes and quilts, directing primary efforts to invigorating production units.

Hoeryong City has turned out various kinds of foodstuff with Hoeryong white apricot, its local specialty, and Hwadae and Onsong counties, too, increase the production of grasswork including carpets, hats, bags and various other necessities with locally available raw materials.

Different kinds of bags and kitchen utensils, produced by the Chongjin Bag Factory, the Chongjin Chemical Fibre Mill, the Puryong Power Station and other units with idle materials, are now popular among users.
