The men's contest will last until Aug. 28 and the women's contest until Aug. 27 at Kim Il Sung Stadium and Sosan Football Stadium. Best men and women football teams of the country will play in the contest.

The men's and women's teams will play league matches, each divided into four groups, and the eight teams which finished first and second will play quarterfinals.

The Wolmido Team beat the Kigwancha Team 2:0 in the men's first-day match.

The Sobaeksu Team and the Naegohyang Team defeated the Amnokgang Team and the Ponghwasan Team 2:1 and 3:2 respectively in the women's matches.
