With a keen insight into the trend of the situation in Juche 34 (1945), the President made preparations for the final decisive battle for Korea's liberation.

In June that year he came to the Kanbaeksan Secret Camp to issue a plan on the final offensive operation for national liberation and confirmed the combat duty of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) units concentrated there.

Those units concentrated in the area of Mt Kanbaek were to advance into the homeland on a scheduled route to liberate all provinces, while other KPRA units, rendezvoused in the training base of the Far East, were to advance quickly by air to conduct a blitzkrieg military operation.

At the same time, small units and political workers of the KPRA, active in the homeland, wee to increase the resistance organizations on a large scale and arouse the people to the all-people resistance and thus make the entire nation join the KPRA in its advance everywhere.

It was the strategic intention of the President and the fundamental spirit of the final offensive operation plan to defeat the Japanese imperialists and liberate the country by dint of the internal forces of the Korean revolution.

On August 9, the President issued an order to the KPRA units to launch a general offensive.

Under his final offensive operation plan, the KPRA units advanced into the homeland, annihilating the Japanese imperialist aggressor forces. In response to this advance, people's armed units and armed uprising organizations in the homeland attacked and occupied the Japanese imperialist ruling organs and annihilated the enemy in all parts of the country.

The bold offensive operation of the KPRA and the vigorous struggle of the people's resistance organizations in combination with it brought about a brilliant victory in the final offensive operation.

On August 15, 1945, one week after the start of the anti-Japanese operation, the Japanese imperialists declared their unconditional surrender.

Indeed, the President is a legendary anti-Japanese hero as he led the great anti-Japanese war to victory with his outstanding foresight, military stratagem and extraordinary commanding art and thus achieved the historic cause of national liberation.
