The camp is a comprehensive extracurricular educational base for schoolchildren built under the care of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and named by Generalissimo Kim Jong Il who set the date of its founding.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un gave instructions on renovating the camp at the highest level as required by the new century, guided the plan for its reconstruction and solved all the problems arising in the construction.

Under his guidance, the camp turned into an excellent palace with all conditions and environments necessary for the life of schoolchildren including modern campers' dwellings, dining hall, folk games ground, zoo, boating ground, outdoor swimming pool and outdoor basketball ground.

Visiting the remodeled camp, he expressed great satisfaction over it and took more benevolent measures for schoolchildren.

Later, a new water slide was built at the outdoor swimming pool to match the surrounding landscape, the walking path from the campers' dwellings to the dining hall and the outdoor basketball ground were newly roofed and various kinds of amusement equipment for children were installed.

The Mangyongdae Children's Camp, a splendid palace for children, is bringing into full bloom beautiful dreams and hopes of the rising generation, the future of the country.
