The contest brought together skilled workers selected from ministries, national agencies and provincial people's committees, including the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and the Ministry of Machine-building Industry. It learned about the participants' knowledge of basic theory and preparation of tools and confirmed the rankings by judging the quality and quantity of their lathe work and sheet metal processing.

The participants in the contest correctly ensured the precision in processing parts and quality indices of sheet metal products while displaying their seasoned technical skills improved in the course of production and the collectivist spirit.

The contest standings were announced on Friday. The excellent skilled workers won trophies and medals, diplomas in the name of the C.C., General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and prizes.
