Those of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, which finished the production of iron plate to be sent to the construction sites of regional-industry factories and set the highest record in Juche iron-based rolled steel production, are effecting uninterrupted innovations and leaps forward.

In the first half of the year those of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex produced molten iron 1.2 times as great as last year. They continue to make dynamic progress.

The Chollima Steel Complex is increasing the iron and steel production to be supplied to different sectors and the Posan Iron Works is concentrating its efforts on readjustment and reinforcement after producing over 6 700 accessories and materials of 60-odd kinds by its own efforts.

The Musan Mining Complex has removed one million and hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of earth by raising the operation rate of equipment. The Hungnam Electrode Factory, Puryong Ferroalloy Factory, Unryul Mine, Jaeryong Mine, Hungsan Mine and other mines are also taking practical measures to boost the productivity.

The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex in the field of chemical industry are increasing the fertilizer production.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex has increased the production of caustic soda, plastic resin and vinalon, and the Sinuiju Chemical Fibre Mill, the Chongjin Chemical Fibre Mill and the Myonggan Chemical Factory have modernized their equipment and increased the variety of products.
