Truth behind Murder of Empress Myongsong
|

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The Japanese aggressors were a horde of brutes indulging in unethical crimes unprecedented in history. Their brutal murder of the Empress Myongsong, a power holder of the feudal Joson dynasty, clearly proves the ferocity of the Japanese aggressors. The Japanese aggressors' moves to colonize Korea reached their extremes in the late 19th century. However, Japan's domination over Korea reached the brink of collapse due to interference and pressure by big powers, and the Empress Myongsong's enforcement of anti-Japanese policy served as another big blow to Japan. The Japanese aggressors, unable to fulfil their wild ambition, sought a way out in eliminating the Empress Myongsong. They, who hatched a criminal plot to murder the first lady of the country, appointed Lieutenant General Miura Goro as its spearhead and dispatched him to Korea. The military gangster, granted the absolute authority to mobilize any means necessary for murdering the Empress Myongsong, worked out a detailed plan for carrying it out. On October 8, 1895, atrocities were launched under the direction of Miura. The Japanese murderers infiltrated into the Korean Imperial Palace, confined the emperor and the prince, where they were, and ransacked the palace to find the empress. They went on a killing spree, murdering all court ladies on their way. They finally found the empress breathing the last breath among the dead ladies. They dragged her body wrapped in quilt to a pile of firewood they had already prepared, poured oil and set fire on it. Later, the Japanese imperialists, who brutally killed the Empress Myongsong, got more undisguised in their moves to subjugate Korea, and occupied Korea by force of arms at last. The murder case was a hideous state-sponsored terrorism directly linked with the implementation of the policy of aggression on Korea. The Japanese imperialists can never evade the responsibility for the past crimes. |
